About Collabolutions

Government and industry, at the same table.

We are a nonprofit that gets the people who own public sector problems and the people who can solve them into one room, then refuses to let them leave with nothing. No panels talking past each other. No business cards traded over coffee. Real challenges, real working sessions, and something usable on paper by the end of the day.

What we are, and what we are not.

What we do

  • Put government and industry at the same table, as equals
  • Source challenges from agencies before we plan anything
  • Facilitate real work, with methods and a trained facilitator
  • Publish everything free, for anyone who can use it
  • Keep events small enough that every voice lands
  • Measure ourselves by what exists after the event

What we do not

  • Run vendor halls or pay to play speaking slots
  • Fill a day with panels and call it collaboration
  • Sell the output back to the people who created it
  • Pretend a networking reception is a solution
  • Let sponsors set the agenda for a working session
  • Leave a room without a deliverable
Why we exist

Conferences end.
The problems do not.

Anyone who has spent a career in or around the federal space knows the pattern. A big event is announced. Smart people fly in. There are keynotes, a panel or two, a vendor hall. Everyone nods at the same well known problems, exchanges contacts, and flies home. Six months later the problem is exactly where it was.

The gap is not talent or good intentions. It is structure. Agencies rarely get unfiltered access to the people building solutions, and industry rarely gets an honest view of the constraints an agency actually operates under. Without a format that forces those two groups to work together, the conversation stays polite and nothing gets built.

Collabolutions was founded to change the format.

What we do

A working format, not a speaking format.

Every Collabolutions program is built around the same idea: put a genuine agency challenge in the middle of a table, surround it with people who each hold one piece of the answer, and give them the tools and the time to build something together.

How it works

From a real problem to something an agency can use.

1

Source the challenge

We work with a government host to scope a problem they actually need solved, months before anyone books travel.

2

Design the room

Our facilitators build the agenda around the challenge, mixing government staff, industry, and outside thinkers at every table.

3

Do the work

Small groups run structured, human centered exercises. Sticky notes, canvases, process maps, and a hard push toward something concrete.

4

Publish it

The output becomes market intelligence, a toolkit, or a recommendation, delivered to agency leadership and published free for anyone.

The output

We measure success the morning after.

The test of a Collabolutions event is simple: what exists now that did not exist yesterday? Every program is designed to end with artifacts, not applause.

Solution canvases capture how a team framed and attacked a problem. Process maps show where the friction actually sits. Market intelligence translates a day of work into something an agency executive can act on. All of it is published openly, because a solution that sits behind a paywall helps no one.

What participants are saying

I attended the inaugural Collabolutions event. I had a BLAST. Those close to me know my attention span is basically zero, and if I am not engaged then I am gone. I had to get to class, otherwise I would have stayed until the very end! The Pulse of GovCon offered time to work with Shark Tank winners on their procurement solution white papers for ideas crafted throughout the day. What a fun, well-thought out event. Aaron Pujanandez and Nick Schutt did a great job!

The people

A volunteer board with skin in the game.

Collabolutions is led by former government leaders, civic technologists, procurement specialists, and design thinking facilitators who volunteer their time. Our board carries real operating responsibility: sourcing government hosts, designing workshops, running programming, and making sure every event produces something worth publishing.

Government leaders sit on the board alongside industry members, which is the whole point.
