DOC at the Police Museum

The Department of Commerce brought a real acquisition problem to the table at the National Law Enforcement Museum. Government staff and industry sat together for a day, and nobody was allowed to pitch.

Morning

Everyone in one room

Mixed seating from the start. Government people and industry people at the same tables, name tags on, coffee in hand, before anyone had said a word about procurement.

Midday

The work

Canvases out, markers uncapped. This is the part that separates a Collabolutions day from a conference: small tables, a real challenge, and a facilitator keeping the conversation honest.

Afternoon

The pitch

Each table takes five minutes in front of the room. Canvas on the screen, no slides, and federal executives asking the questions they would ask for real.

What we left with

Commitments with names and dates against them. The test of the day is simple: what exists now that did not exist yesterday.
